Shabu for breakfast

after indulging him with “shabu” for breakfast in
Tanjay. (After putting away “evidence”, the “smoking
guns” pose for a souvenir.)
The story :
At home in Tanjay for a visit in November, one of the things
Tino, Balodoy and I were “cracking our brains” about, (aside from
solving the poverty of third world countries or minimizing the
green house effect due to depletion of the ozone layer of the
atmosphere in the universe, very scientific deliberations,
indeed), was unsa gyu’y lami nga pamahaw. We
talked about, tapsilog (tapa,
sinanglag, itlog) and inonlugtsok (inon-onan, lugaw, tsokolate).
Balodoy,
who is a busnessman, a farmer, a civic leader, a politician and
a connoisseur of beauty, all rolled into one, suggested, “Fresh fruits,
grains, milk, a lot of water, after a good exercise”.
“Apan, ang lami gyu’ng
pamahaw, Pare,” ni-ingon ni si Tino, “kanang shabu. Para nako,
wa’a gyu’y makalupig ana.”
“Ha? Shabu?” mora ko’g
nakuratan. Tino, a doctor, having shabu for
breakfast? “Di ba bawal man na? Asa man ka ug supply?”
“Ay, kasayon! Dili na
problema.
came to my rescur: “Ay, adaaaaa, Brady. Kanang breakfast nga
shabu
is shampurado ug bulad!”

A very pretty woman and good looking guy dropped by to see me while I
was checked in at the Hotel de Tanjay: Si Inday Rue ug si
Nito. Later, nangabut sila si Dorie, si Lito, si Baby, si
Miss Ramos, ugbp. Here’s one of their “dyoks”:
Kadtong
hapit na kono mamatay si Liloy nga tigulang palahubog (sus, wala jud
to’y adlaw’ng dili siya hubog), iyang gitawag ang iyang asawa ug
duha ka anak aron manugon.

“Mopanaw na ako . . . sa
laing kalibutan . . . Bisan unya kon wala na ako . .
. ayaw gyud ninyo ibaligya . . . kanang lima ka
hectaryang yuta . . . nga kalubinhan . . . do-ul sa
suba . . .”
“Toy, na-unsa man
ka. Dili man intawon na atong yuta . . . “ tubag ni ‘Nang Anding,
iyang asawa.
“Mao bitaw na . .
. Ayaw gyud ug ibaligya ninyo!
