Tanjay Talks . . . .
                      Compiled by Braddock Calumpang

Love thy neighbor.
Segi, bantay lang nga dili mo masakpan!

            Tiago Allright, Colina Trans operator,
           giving his unsolicited but delightful two-
           centavos worth.

Sa mga bata pa kita,  gatas – aron ta mabaskug!
Karong gulang  na ta,  tuba – aron ta malipay!

              Francisco (Tio Isko Barraco) Calumpang,
             as he passed by DINALEX Store on his
             way home one evening, malipayon.

Ay, guini-i! Tanjay?  Moto-o man ka!  Ug imo na silang tagdon,  ikaw ra’y ma-ugtos.  Makabuhi na sila’g patay!
              Evalyna Seneris-Mantes
(in one of the
          tapok-tapoks in  Danny/Badingding’s
             house)

Best Wishes to the tigerrrr in the house (grrr, grrr!)
(And to the Trainer, congratulations for a job well done!)

             Beauty Villegas Barot-Diago, greeting her
             sister Nanette and husband Len Wood on
            their wedding anniversary.

Realizing our mortality, it is everybody’s wish to leave a legacy in the town they love, to the people they love – one that would be remembered for generations to come.
         Mr. Jose Samson, District Supervisor, in a
         pep talk he gave our class in Psychology at
         ENI in 1958.

Kay ngano man, ika-katsila ba diay nimo ang pag-serve sa lungsod niyang natawhan?
        Mr Julio Garcia, in answer to criticisms that
       he could not be mayor of Tanjay because of
        his Spanish ancestry.

Tanjay, someday, I shall come home -  to stay!

      Pablito Manapol, not having been home for
       over 30 years, in his ad in the Souvenir
       Program during the 2000 Tanjay USA Fiesta
       celebration.

Pare!  Ayaw ko’g ingnang ug mo-retire ka, dili ka mopuyo diri sa Tanjay! Madahan! Mag-unsa man ka sa Amerika!
        Dr Tino Cornelio, anticipating the golden
        happy days  that lie ahead.

Naa diha sa Tanjay magtapok ang pinaka- gwatsinanggong mga tawo sa tibo-ok kalibutan!
          Dr. Ernesto Colina, his answer to Lito
          Limbaga
who wondered: Nganong lami man
          gyud ning Tanjay!

Hilum diha! Giki-ki ra ka'g Blue!

        Kikong Sarabia, to a hackler who claimed
          that his cousin, then Con. Mike Romero will
         get less than 100% of Tanjayanon votes.

Tanjay!  I have never seen so many beautiful faces in one place at the same time!  And, they come with an easy smile!
         Jorge Gonzalves, while appreciating the lyrics
        of Andrews Calumpang's Ang Dalagang
        Tanjayanon, a song that extols the beauty and
        virtues of the Tanjayanon woman.

Gaaaw! Tanjayanon!  Da besssst!
       George Romero (who swears he was referring
        to the moral, spiritual and religious upbringing
        of the ladies born and raised in Tanjay.)
Specially reprinted for Tanjayanons at the request of  Mr Paciano Cornelio, Bangkok, Thailand

Do It Anyway

From the notes of  Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
     Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
     Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
     Succeed anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
     Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
     Be happy anyway.

The good that you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
     Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
     Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see in the final analysis, it is between, you and God;
      It was never between you and them anyway.

o-o-o-o-o-o-o

The Family
of the late

Cristina (Titina) Garcia-Quipot

wishes to thank sincerely
all those who prayed and offered masses for the eternal repose of her soul,  as well as all those who sent flowers, words of comfort and in one way or another condoled with them in their hour of bereavement.
For your kind and generous concern, we pray for God's eternal blessings to you and your family.
