The public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) should not have given its Anvil Award to San Miguel Corporation for its work in disaster relief operations (Inquirer, Feb. 23).
Instead, the PRSP should have censured San Miguel Corporation for the public relations disaster that SMC brought upon itself when it misused corporate resources, coerced its employees, and otherwise dissipated its prestige in support of Ferdinand Marcos’ re-election.
By supporting Mr. Marcos’ continuance in power, SMC was promoting the perpetuation of a political and economic disaster.
