'Pagkat tayo ay tao lamang

Pakisabi mo na sa Treasurer natin na pasensiya na sa membership fee ko na late.  Abi mo, I
remember every time I go to bed that I'll mail it, pero the following day - ay, forgotten  na naman!  Kasi walang due date, walang finance charge, walang late charge at walang  penalty sa outstanding balance.   Kaya ang nangyari ay manaña habit, di ba?  Ito'y birong  toto-o,  he, he, he.  Here's my check for $40.  Magkano ba ang lifetime membership fee?

                San Jose, Calif
Ang tseke mo hinahatag na namin sa ating Treasurer.   Hina-ut sana  na hindi yon  pa-untulin sa bankohin. He, he, he, 'Tang, biro lang yon.  O, kumusta kabayo, este, ba  kayo?  Kinukumusta rin namin si Cres, yung igso-on mo.

We just finished reading the Ang Tanjayanon Newsletter.  We are glad that we have this  kind of publication which keeps us, at least,  in touch with each other, although I'm sure  there are still many Tanjayanons out  there who have not yet been "reached" by  ATN.  The comments of Al Moranas have indeed backfired.  Instead of dividing us, we have indeed  become more united as Tanjayanons.  He derisively describes the ATN as "it stinks".  If he  is that brave why doesn't he discard his pen name so that we will know the character of  this self-appointed critic, judge and executioner?  He should know that our newsletter is  not a propaganda piece but an avenue through which  we are entertained so that we will  forget the tribulations encountered while residing in a foreign land.  Please give us the  exact address in Los Angeles of this moral crusader (so that) we can write him directly.

The ATN is  very good unta, apan tagdugay kaayong mo-abut.   Maluya 'tag pina-abut kanus-a
ang sunod issue.  Kay unsa man di-ay ang inyong ipasabut sa "Published when in the mood"?  You're in the mood once every 2 or 3 months only?  How impotent can you be?  How old are  you, by the way?  Not old, I suppose.  Why don't you come out more often.  The truth is  we'd like to see you regularly.
Tungod kay tag-dugay mong moguwa,  I feel like a NEWLY-WED YOUNG LADY WHOSE HUSBAND TU-A  MAGTRABAJO SA BARKO NGA OVERSEAS UNYA MOPA-ULI RA'G ONCE A YEAR!
BRAD,  SAY MY FULL NAME ALOUD 3 TIMES, AND YOU'LL KNOW WHAT I MEAN !

post marked  Dumaguete  City, Phils)

From New Jersey . . .

Greetings from Noo Joysie!  I may not be a Tanjayanon but proud and lucky to be married to
one.  (and wow, what a "one"!)
ATN is always eagerly awaited by both of us.  It is a great newsletter - kudos to all of  you who, we hope and pray, will always be IN THE MOOD to give us readers such enjoyable,  witty and (sometimes?) informative articles.  Daghang salamat!

                Auring C. Cornelio
                Elizabeth, NJ
When the HEARTBLENDERS disbanded, 'Bay Pacing Cornelio launched his musical
professionalism and set his sights beyond the Philippines.   He had performances in
Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Taipei, Hong Kong and Germany.  Then he got a contract to
play at  a niteclub that catered to international clientele in Bangkok, the Cafe de Paris.
It was here that his wandering heart was tamed.  He met and fell in love with Auring, who
was every inch a lady and a respected leader in many social and religious organizations of
Filipinos.  A true Tanjayanon who really knows what he wants and gets what he wants, he
courted her.  They got married, and  lived happily ever after.  End of story?  No.  They
are coming to Los Angeles to attend the 1998 Tanjay USA  Fiesta celebration as special
guests of Nenen and Glenda and Baby, their nieces. Viva Sr Santiago!!!!
