Letters
Mr. & Ms. Special Edition
Dear Editor:

The alumnae of the Philippine Women’s University branch in Davao who consider their chairman, Helena Benitez, to be a "balimbing" (Letters, Apr. 10) have been urged by a loyal alumna "to dialogue with Ms. Benitez" (Letters, Apr. 17).

The advice is as ridiculous as it is expensive.

Recall that on the Monday of the February revolution, when Ms. Benitez told PWU students that classes were suspended, she did not tell them to go to Camp Crame. Instead, she told them to "go home, read a book or perhaps, catch up on your sewing."

This is the kind of crap that Davao alumnae would get if they came to Manila for a dialogue with Ms. Benitez.

It is not worth the cost of a round-trip ticket.
