I don’t know if the error is that of writer Pennre S. Azarcon or that of artists Sandra Torrijos and/or Salvador Zulueta, but it just isn’t true that "Alethai is a classical Greek word for ‘discovery’ " ("Faces," VERITAS, Jan. 19).
The Greek word for discovery is "eurema" which comes from the same root as "eureka" (literally, "I have found [it]").
There is no such Greek word as "alethia", but there is an "alathaia" which means the Latin "veritas" or English "truth."
Yours for more truthful discoveries.
