Malaya
Sir:

Our wounded soldiers have been denied the food, medicines, and professional care which our tax monies are supposed to have paid for. Concerned officers, staff members, doctors, and nurses of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center (AFPMC) have accused the recently-ousted commanding general of diverting these funds to houses, house furnishings, restaurants, parties of various kinds, and salaries of various relatives (Malaya, Feb. 16).

Until I read the letter of the AFPMC staff members, I did not fully appreciate what the Church meant when it said that there are certain sins "that cry to the heavens for vengeance."
