Your story on the appointment of Dr. Mita Pardo de Tavera as Minister of Social Services and Development described her as being active with GABRIELA (MT, Mar. 4).

In fact, she had been forced out of the chairmanship of that organization last January by radicals who wanted the organization to boycott the elections. An illegally-called General Assembly (at which the proxies of 32 organizations were voted by one person) repudiated her leadership.

These very same radicals are now trumpeting Dr. Pardo de Tavera’s role in GABRIELA, shamelessly and mendaciously basking in the reflected triumph of the leader they had booted out.
