When the Catholic Church rejected President Marcos, the Iglesia ni Cristo remained by his side. I welcomed this support, convinced that Bishop Erano Manalo, a man of God, the son and heir of the Angel of the Revelation, would exert a strong moral influence on Mr. Marcos and his people.

Imagine my chagrin, disappointment, and scandal with the revelation that the good bishop was among the favored few who enjoyed the free use of a Mercedes Benz 450 (Midday, Mar. 19) anomalously withdrawn from the Bureau of Customs!

Instead of being a moral influence on the Marcoses, Ka Erdie, it seems, was corrupted by them.
