Sir:

I was extremely surprised to find out that Elections Commissioner Jaime Opinion, who has been condemned as a lap dog of Governor Benjamin Romouldez, lives only in Teacher’s Village which, to borrow the phrase made famous by former Ambassador J. V. Cruz, "is no big deal."

I cannot reconcile Commissioner’s humble place of residence with Governor Romouldez’s well-known generosity. Neither can I conceive of Mr. Opinion (or, for that matter, any man with a modicum of self-respect) selling his soul for so little.

Much as I disagree with Mr. Opinion, I am forced to conclude that Commissioner Opinion, far from being a mercenary, is acting out of deep conviction.
