The Daily Inquirer

I am deeply disappointed over the editorial judgment governing your sports coverage. On Jan. 3, you had nothing at all on the Philippine victory over South Korea at the Asian Basketball Confederation tournament.

Worse, your paper did not print a single line on American football, despite the fact that New year’s Day (Jan. 2 here) is the biggest day in college football: the Fiesta Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, and the Orange Bowl games are held, with the best American college teams competing.

Instead, your sports editor preferred to run stories on the Philadelphia-Portland basketball game, an Argentinian soccer trainer, a Chicago Cubs pitcher, a French motorcycle race, and local chess hustlers. Sheesh!
