Mr. E. A. Perez de Tagle / MALAYA / January 16, 1986

You’ve got to be understanding when people complained that you were scooped on the Gintong Alay story although you had in fact published it several days earlier ("Fancy This", Jan. 14).

I hate to say this, but the fact of the matter is that most people treat the BULLETIN TODAY’s sports pages as the authoritative sports section and use it as the standard against which to compare all other sections.

I realize that this is a terrible injustice, especially to you who already had established a name in sportswriting at the time Lito Fernandez was starting out a the sports editor of the PHILIPPINE COLLEGIAN . . . but that’s the was the cookie crumbles.

Life IS unfair, Mr. Tagle.
