The report that former President Marcos seriously contemplated suicide is quite ironical: the very same issue of MALAYA (Mar. 25) that carried this item also reported that the man in charge of Japan’s economic aid to the Philippines committed suicide by throwing himself under a train at a Tokyo subway station.

And, slightly less than three weeks earlier, the attorney linked to the anomalous Philippine government investments in San Francisco dies, an apparent suicide (MIDDAY, Mar. 6).

Last week, Jaime Cardinal Sin said that he prays Mr. Marcos will not commit suicide (MIDDAY, Mar. 20).

The Cardinal should expand his prayer to include everyone who was involved in one way or the other with the despondent Mr. Marcos.
