I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I read about how 30 Ateneo de Manila University students set up a human barricade that prevented 160 cadets from attending the opening day program of the National Service program (Malaya, July 12 and 13). Something must be terribly and pathetically wrong with our Citizen’s Military Training program if its trainees can be shamefully outmaneuvered by a group one-fifth its size.
