Fugitive Deputy Minister J. Conrado Benitez gave P2 million to his 70-year-old mother for safekeeping, but apparently made no provision for guarding her or the money.

All he did was give his mother an unlicensed .38 caliber pistol and 27 rounds of ammunition!
