The Bagong Alyasang Makabayan (BAYAN) has called for a boycott of the coming elections simply because Mrs. Corazon Aquino like President Marcos, is willing to negotiate with the United States on the retention of the military bases in our country.

In effect, BAYAN is telling us that between Marcos and the bases, they would rather keep Marcos and oust the bases.

By refusing to cooperate with those who would rather oust Marcos (and consider the bases issue negotiable), BAYAN is thoughtlessly (what else is new?) contributing to a situation where we might end up keeping both Marcos and the bases.
