Dr. Rolando M. Gripaldo, professor of economic and political philosophy at Mindanao State University, should be quite happy that his eclectic views on economic development (Letters, Feb. 18-22) have been endorsed by no less than Mr. Hilarion Henares, Jr. (Special Edition, Mar. 15-21).
Mr. Henares’s views certainly carry more weight than the opinions of such critics of Dr. Gripaldo as a laborer in Saudi Arabia (Letter, Mar. 15021) or an Ortanez University coed who couldn’t get Dr. Gripaldo’s name right (Letters, Mar 8-14).
Dr. Gripaldo should invite Mr. Henares to be a visiting professor at his university. When Dr. Gripaldo lectures on the kalokohan of Mr. Jaime Ongpin, Mr. Henares will bolster this view with his testimony that Mr. Ongpin has a pathological urge to spit on siopao.
The entertainment provided by such a joint lecture between Dr. Gripaldo and Mr. Henares will attract many students to major in philosophy, especially those who believe that Mr. Henares’s nickname is "Ronnie."
